I keep coming back to this place in Gorebridge for my stay because it's perfect. The staff helped me find nearby shops. It has Wi-Fi, off-site car park, an electric kettle, and a bar/lounge area. Plus, the restaurant serves delicious food. Cots are available and pets are allowed. No smoking on site. Perfect for my city trip.

The separate bathtub and shower were perfect for a relaxing soak or a quick rinse. I loved the deep soaking bathtub, it was like a mini spa in the room. And they even had a hair dryer, so no need to pack one. Plus, the room had a refrigerator and a microwave which were super handy for storing and heating up leftovers.
I wasn't a huge fan of the casino theme throughout the cottage. But hey, that's just me!

I loved being surrounded by stunning views and charming attractions like the Great Polish Map of Scotland and Butterfly and Insect World. The cottage itself was cozy with a fireplace and a deep soaking tub. Plus, I had private parking and free WiFi, how posh!
Oh, let's not forget the pleasure of navigating through the delightful deep potholes on the road up to the cottage. Such an adventurous experience, I must say!

What a letdown! The only good thing about this place is the quiet and beautiful location. That's it. The cottage itself has a rustic feel, but it definitely needs some serious maintenance. And don't even get me started on the cleanliness. We found dried-up flies in corners and the cramped toilet was just gross. Plus, the heating system was a mystery that we couldn't figure out. Thank goodness for the fire, at least that kept us warm. And the duvets and bed coverings were cozy, I'll give them that. But overall, not worth the money or the hassle.
To sum it up, this place was a disappointment. The road was a disaster, the cleanliness was subpar, and the heating system was a puzzle.

Tucked away in the peaceful Edinburgh countryside, it provided the perfect getaway for our family of six. The cottage itself was beautifully furnished and exuded a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed stunning views of the nearby lake and were even lucky enough to spot deer grazing in the distance. Our time together as a family was made incredibly special by the cozy ambiance and picturesque surroundings. We would highly recommend this cottage to any family seeking a comfortable and memorable stay amidst the tranquility of nature, and we eagerly anticipate our return!
In my wife's opinion, the access to the toilet was somewhat cramped.

Spacious Accommodations: The cottage offers 5 accommodations, each with its own fireplace and washer/dryer. During my stay, I felt like I was living in a cozy cabin straight out of a fairytale, snuggled up by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoying the warmth of the crackling fire.
Potholed Road: The road leading up to the accommodation had a few deep potholes.

The bathroom at Mauldslie Hill Cottage was amazeballs! I mean, seriously, they had separate bathtubs and showers with deep soaking tubs. I had a freaking spa experience in there! Plus, they had a hair dryer for my mane. Talk about luxury on a budget!
I wasn't a big fan of the refrigerator and microwave in the room. It's just my personal taste, though.
